Our Associate Degree Nursing – Traditional Option provides you with the training and expertise you鈥檒l need to start your career as a registered nurse. It can be completed in four consecutive semesters. - Application for Admission to 葫芦影业
- Application for the Associate Degree Nursing Program
- Validation of high school graduation by official high school transcript, high school equivalency transcript (GED庐, HiSET庐, TASC鈩, or Mississippi Competency-Based High School Equivalency), or college transcript. (For currently enrolled high school students, an updated transcript, validating high school graduation, will be required prior to beginning the program.)
- Official Transcripts from all colleges attended (except 葫芦影业 CC)
- ACT Composite Score of 18 or above (if taken prior to October 1989 – 15)
- ACT sub-score of 18 in Math (15 if taken before October 1989) or a “C” or higher in College Algebra.
- ACT sub-score of 18 in Reading (applicants who took the ACT prior to October 1989 must retake the ACT to obtain the Reading sub-score)
- ACT sub-score of 18 in Science (applicants who took the ACT prior to October 1989 must retake the ACT to obtain the Science sub-score)
- A grade point average of 2.5 or higher using the best grade achieved for the nursing program of study prerequisite and corequisite courses completed by the admission deadline. All other coursework will NOT be used to calculate the GPA for admissions.
- Applicants who have been enrolled in another RN program (Traditional option) within the last four (4) years must provide a letter of good standing from the nursing program attended in order to be considered for admission.
- Applicants with two (2) withdrawals or failures from 葫芦影业鈥 ADN (Traditional option) or any previously registered nursing (Traditional option) program/course are not eligible for admission within four (4) years from the date of the last nursing course (Traditional option) taken. If it has been more than four (4) years from the last nursing course (Traditional option) taken, applicants:
- Must meet all current admission requirements;
- Do not have to provide a letter of good standing.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for the Associate Degree Nursing Program-Traditional Option:
- A grade point average of 2.5 or higher using the best grade achieved for completed nursing program of study prerequisite and corequisite courses.
- Must have completed BIO 2511 – Anatomy and Physiology I, Laboratory, BIO 2513 – Anatomy and Physiology I, Lecture, BIO 2521 – Anatomy and Physiology II, Laboratory, BIO 2523 – Anatomy and Physiology II, Lecture, and SOC 2113 – Introduction to Sociology.
- All required courses must be completed by the admission deadline (March 15th for fall start or September 30th for spring start) with a 鈥淐鈥 or above.
Selection Process
- For classes that begin in the fall term (Rankin and Nursing/Allied Health Center): Applications will be available January 1st, and all admission criteria must be completed by March 15th.聽 For classes that begin in the spring term (Nursing/Allied Health Center): Applications will be available July 1st, and all admission criteria must be completed by October 20th.
- Applicants who have submitted all admission requirements by the specified deadline will be considered for program admission based on a rating scale that includes but is not limited to: ACT composite score; ACT Math, Science and Reading subscores; prerequisite letter grades; and highest previous certificate or degree.
- Applicants not selected for a class may reapply for subsequent classes by submitting a new Application to the Traditional Option Associate Degree Nursing Program.
- Applicants selected for admission into the program must attend a designated program orientation session.
Process for Selection for Transfer Admission to Generic Option
- All requirements listed in the criteria for selection to the Associate Degree Nursing Program Traditional Option.
- Letter of Good Standing and written recommendation from the previous school of nursing.
- Credit for transfer courses will be evaluated on an individual basis by the Dean of Nursing. A maximum of nine semester hours of transfer credit in nursing courses is accepted. Nursing coursework presented for transfer credit must have been completed with a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or above and completed within one year of entering the Traditional Option.
- Applicants selected for admission into the program must attend a program orientation session.
