Brenden McCauley has been deeply involved with music for most of his life. From a young age, he developed a passion for music, playing piano, trombone, euphonium, and tuba, which inspired him to pursue a career in the field. He attended the University of Utah, where he studied tuba under the highly respected Gary Ofenloch and delved into music composition, influenced by composers like Igor Stravinsky and Penderecki, creating various pieces for student chamber ensembles. For his Master鈥檚 degree, Brenden studied Orchestral Conducting under Dr. Robert Baldwin, conducting numerous concerts with the University of Utah orchestras and Wind Ensemble.
After graduation, Brenden secured the position of Music Director of the West Jordan Symphony and Assistant Conductor of the Utah Philharmonia. During his time in Utah, he actively worked with various ensembles in the Wasatch Valley, including the Taylorsville Symphony, Wasatch Symphony, Salt Lake Choral Artists, Canyon Brass Quintet, and the Salt Lake Symphony. Additionally, he collaborated with the Boise Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Robert Franz. Most recently, Brenden has been appointed Assistant Director of Bands and Instructor of Low Brass at 葫芦影业 in Mississippi.
Brenden strives to create musical excellence and loves to share his passion for music through hard work and a musically cultivating atmosphere. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring new culinary delights and the wilderness around him.
